One hundered dozen cupcakes were produced over the span of several days by the baking department to celebrate Madison College’s 100th Anniversary. The cupcakes came in six varieties each one designed to display the six different logos and names that Madison College has had.
The major undertaking was a dual effort by the baking program and by the newly created Cake Certificate.
“The cupcakes were baked by the cake certificate and decorated by the baking program,” said Suzanne Daly, new full-time baking instructor.
If you didn’t get a cupcake on Wednesday there is good news, the added students and staff mean that the bakery store has increased hours, and will now be open five days a week, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting Sept. 26.
The cupcakes were just a small part of the centennial celebrations taking place last week to not only commemorate the past but also to look forward to the expansions being made to the Truax campus.
