My husband and I just discovered Fazoli’s restaurant near East Towne Mall last night, and I have to say that we were absolutely delighted! The place was squeaky clean, and the service was fast and friendly, but the real star was the food, which was delicious and plentiful.

I worked as a professional cook for many years and I started out in fine Italian dining. That having been said, I was happily surprised by the quality of food, which was comparable to the expensive meals I used to prepare in a 4-star establishment. The terrific prices at Fazoli’s were equally surprising. Full size entreés range from $6.79 for spaghetti with meat sauce to $8.49 for baked chicken parmesan.

Our cashier and server, D’shawn, was polite and helpful while my husband and I figured out what to try first. He went out of his way to provide first class service, which we never expected. The pasta we had was tender and flavorful, and the sauces we tried were perfectly seasoned and fresh, even the alfredo sauce, which is no small accomplishment! The portions at Fazoli’s are very generous, and are just as tasty when reheated at home.

I didn’t care for the pizza much. I found that the crust was soggy in the center and lacked flavor, but the sauce and toppings were fine. D’shawn visited our table to offer us more tender and buttery bread sticks and made sure we were happy. He checked on us several more times on his way to deliver food to the dining room. The other young man working was equally nice and checked on us as well. All in all, Fazoli’s was a big hit and I highly recommend it for a fast, fresh, wonderful Italian meal!
