A great new role-playing game for Warhammer fans dropped this past month in the form of Warhammer Rouge Trader! This game puts you in command of entire fleets and armies as you explore the dark reaches of space, trad. You’ll also wage war against alien empires, build up your own empire and how you rule and delve deep into the demonic cult that is trying to open the gates to space hell. The game gives you great freedom in how you role-play. It creates the kind of character you play as, the backstory of your character, and the bonds and rivalry you form with your crew mates. 

The game delves deep into space feudal politics in how you colonize worlds, the resources they give you, trade treaties within, and an economic system. But this would not be “Warhammer 40,000” without a battle. You can have space battles with your ship, plot out campaigns against alien powers, and, most basic of all, turn base combat. The game has a great amount of experience and world-building, as well as how you influence the world and characters around you. 

If you want to have an evil Space Witch for a partner, go ahead; if you want to use demonic weapons and sell your soul to Space Satan, be my guest. The game’s characters are very fun to talk to and explore the world with. The game gives us, for the first time ever, the chance to deeply role-play in the grim dark future of “Warhammer 40,000” I recommend it to not only Warhammer fans but fans of role-playing games in general.
