With Halloween nearly here, you may be wondering what you can do to get your fright on. And I have the most spooktacular ideas for you.
1. If you are more of a party person who loves to make conversation, enjoy a drink, and celebrate Halloween, we have just the thing for you. The Cardinal Bar is hosting Halloween 21+ Bar Crawl on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be low drink specials and food specials as well as a $2,000 prize value Halloween costume contest. The event has a $10 entry fee and check-in is between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
2. Looking for a fun, family-friendly activity? Join State Street from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, for an exciting Halloween event. Enjoy hayrides around the Capitol Square, crafts, art projects, stories and songs. Trick or treat at area businesses, and then go to a movie showing of “Hotel Transylvanian” at the Madison parks after the event.

3. Want to experience an unforgettable evening at Schuster Farm’s Haunted Forest? Walk through the corn maze where you go through a series of small buildings, see some cool decorations and have some monsters jump out at you. Enjoy the thrilling experience. If that is not your thing, do not worry. There will be live music and a cozy bonfire for you to enjoy as well. Opening night was Sept. 28, and the Haunted Forest is open Friday and Saturday nights through Nov. 2, plus Thursday, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31.

4. Willing to go for a drive this Halloween? Stoughton has one of the spookiest haunted houses in the area. Screaming Acres promotes itself as a unique haunted attraction that “fully immerses its audience into a world of horror that cannot be matched anywhere.” If you find that statement is true, report back to The Clarion about the experience.
All tickets will be sold online at www.screaminacres.com. The cost is $28 to $32, but it’s well worth the money if you’re into horror. Open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 26, Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2.
5. For the lazy couch potato and somewhat of an introvert, like myself, something I recommended for Halloween night just cozying up with close friends, watching scary movies and eating a bunch of snacks. If you’re in need of scary movies I would recommend “The Conjuring,” “Black Phone” and “Us.”
