A show worth watching is “The Rings of Power,” season two. Hardcore Tolkien fans and media conservatives criticize the show, but it does a great job of world-building for Middle Earth and is true to the lore of Middle Earth and other books Tolkien wrote about it.
The show brings the politics and cultures of Middle Earth to life with the dwarfs, elves, orks and the conflicts between them. It brings the religion and gods of other books into the show and addresses Tolkien’s view that using evil never leads to good, no matter how glimmering and shiny. This takes the form of the rings of power that the Dark Lord Sauron creates and gives to the mortal races of Middle Earth under the guise of bringing peace and prosperity to the world and ending all war.
The show is filled with a diverse cast of heroes, from Black dwarf clerics to female elven war heroes. Even Tom Bombadil makes an appearance.
The season is also filled with massive battles between hordes of orks and armies of brave elven warriors. The show brings Middle Earth to breathtaking new life in ways that, in my opinion, even the films don’t with its creatures and locations.
Enjoy Middle Earth at its best with ‘The Rings of Power’
