Every October, pink ribbons appear, signaling it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM).
Yesterday, Peer Health Educators Yacelis Brube Nicholson and Elysia Phon brought breast cancer awareness to our conversation by giving out breast cancer awareness kits.
They gave away free socks, bracelets, rubber duckies and pins as part of awareness kits. Their goal is to build breast cancer awareness.
Program Director of Radiography Instructor Kristi Klein stopped by the table to talk to the peer educators and any students with questions. Every year, she presents to second-year students to education about mammography.
“I’m so glad that the college also has this day to spread breast cancer awareness to all students,” Klein said.
