Madison College is celebrating Veterans Week with a variety of activities organized by Veterans Resource Services. All week, from Nov. 6-10, there will be a table outside the Truax Cafeteria with ribbons and cards for students and staff to express gratitude to the college’s veteran students.
A “Mindfulness for Stress Management” presentation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9. The presentation will be by Jason Harris, a Marine Corps. Veteran and a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator through Mindful Leader. Students must register in advance for the event. That event will be followed by a luncheon specifically for veteran students from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Diane’s Delicious Diner. Culinary students will be cooking and serving the meals to thank the veteran students. Attendees must register in advance. Finally, on Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., veterans can join the Veteran Resource Services in the RISE Learning Center, Truax Room D1673, for a casual lunch of soup and snacks. Games and food will be provided.
