The Embrace Innovative Future Fashion Show will be held Monday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room D1630 on the Truax Campus. Betty Hurd, the Program Director of the Fashion Marketing Department, shared some details about the upcoming show.
The inspiration for the fashion show comes from a student vote. The students are completely hands on in the creative process of the show. There are several teams running the show: a runway team, a music team, a model call team, and an advertising team. The students had to have teamwork behind the scenes, working together to create this show.
Nothing for the fashion show is bought new. Everything is repurposed or recycled materials. The department had an open casting call and Hurd said, “Anyone can be a model.” According to Hurd, its mission is to offer students the opportunity to get real life experience in the fashion industry.
