Equal Pay: Women+ in Trades Week

Madison College is sponsoring a series of events, focusing on the mission of Equal Pay 2024 (EP24). EP24 provide students with opportunities to learn more about the importance of gender parity, equal pay, engaging women students to consider career pathways in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), the trades and leadership.
Each week of EP24 is devoted to exploring each of our themes through a panel, speaker, and experiential activity.
Women+ in Trades Week is April 11 and 12. Madison College will be presenting the following events:
Metal Flower Welding, Thursday, April 11, 1-2:30 p.m., Welding Shop E1714
Embark on a hands-on journey in our Metal Flower Welding workshop! This experiential opportunity invites students to explore the artistry and craftsmanship of welding while creating stunning metal flowers.
Trades Alumni & Expert Panel, Thursday, April 11, 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m., C2448
Join us for a women in trades panel. This event is designed to inspire and empower women and non-binary individuals to explore career pathways in the trades.
Trades Guest Speaker, Friday, April 12, 12 p.m.–1 p.m., D1630B
Join us for an inspiring women in trades seminar, where we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in traditionally male-dominated industries. Discover firsthand stories of success, challenges overcome and opportunities in the trades from our panel of accomplished women. Whether you’re considering a career in trades, already working in the field, or simply interested in learning more, this seminar will offer valuable insights.
