Madison College will celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), featuring Dina Nina, on April 2 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Truax Campus D1630 .
Dina Nina is the first openly transgender woman elected to Madison’s Common Council.
Madison College honors Transgender Day of Visibility to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to recognize the lives and achievements of trans people while also highlighting the poverty, discrimination and violence the transgender community faces.
This day also celebrates the lives of transgender people, empowering them to live authentically. It also acknowledges that because of discrimination, not every transgender can or wants to be visible.
