Local screenwriters Rebecca Williams Spindler and Sarah Hopkins will be speaking at the Writer’s Life Lecture Series event held at Madison College on Thursday, April 25.
The event, held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room A2031 of the college’s Truax Campus, will focus on the process of writing screenplays for film and television. In this event that is moderated by L. David Hansen, chair of the college’s Journalism and Film Program, Williams Sprindler and Hopkins will also discuss their careers as screenwriters.
“We will be discussing how one writes a screenplay and the process of finding a production company to turn a screenplay into a television series or film,” said Hansen. “This will be an interesting hour for any student or community member who is interested in screenwriting and/or the world of film and television.”
Williams Spindler is a member of the International Screenwriters Association, an alumnus of the LA Writers Boot Camp, and former vice president and resident of the Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum.
