The United Common Ground (UCG) is a student-led organization that offers opportunities for students to learn about diversity, multiculturalism, and contemporary/social issues through programs that complement education outside of the classroom. We host campus-wide events that raise awareness, consciousness, and understanding about marginalized/oppressed groups in a safe, open, and welcoming environment where people with different cultures, economic classes, ethnicities, sexual identity, gender orientations, ability status, values and religious beliefs are treated with respect and dignity, which in turn promote access and equity for an inclusive campus experience.
What are some of the events and activities your club hosts throughout the year? In the fall, some of the events we host include our collaboration with La Raza Unida for the Hispanic Heritage Kickoff and Fall Social. In the spring, we organize events such as the Global Showcase and Diwali, among others.
