October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Liver Cancer Awareness Month. The American Red Cross is urging the community to give blood in support of patients with cancer and those undergoing transplants.
A blood drive will be held at Madison College on Monday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room D1630 B/C at the Truax Campus.
The American Red Cross urges donors of all blood types to give blood and support patients fighting cancer, undergoing transplant surgeries, and facing other serious illnesses.
More than 1.7 million people are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year. Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, while undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
