Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is an opportunity for advocates, survivors, family and the community to come together to discuss sexual violence to support survivors, increase information and awareness, and identify ways to prevent sexual violence.
Madison College Peer Health Educators Julie Molina Andres, Angela Smith, and Laure Ramde came together this month to promote SAAM by providing information, answering questions, and handing out SAAM stickers, bracelets, pens and turquoise ribbons. Turquoise is the color for SAAM.
“April is sexual awareness month. It is important that you know that the first step to stop sexual assault is to make people more aware of what it is and see that they have help,” Peer Health Educator Molina Andres said.
