What’s happening? Madison College Public Safety Department responds to many calls for service. Accordingly, we would like to keep the college community informed. Here are some of the notable incidents this month.
On Feb. 18, Madison College Public Safety Officers removed a disorderly individual who had made threats to staff and students. An altercation occurred between the suspect and the officers. The suspect was suspended and removed by Madison Police Department. Legal action has been taken and a conduct review board hearing has been scheduled for this case.
On Feb. 28, Madison College Public Safety Officers removed an intoxicated individual from the Downtown campus, after a racial altercation ensued in the first floor atrium. Investigation of this incident is still under way.
On March 1, Madison College Public Safety Officers recovered a missing purse for a Madison College student. All cash and valuables were still in the purse.
Campus Safety Tip of the Month: Every driver should have a survival kit for use in emergency situations during winter storms. Help could be hours away, making a survival kit essential. Every kit should at a minimum include:
- A Blanket
- Granola bars or another similar food item
- Bottled water
- A Flashlight
- Flares
- Jumper Cables
