What’s happening?
Madison College Public Safety Department responds to many calls for service. Accordingly, we would like to keep the college community informed. Here are some of the notable incidents this month.
On Jan. 26, while driving to the South Campus, a Madison College Public Safety officer came upon an unconscious female in her vehicle with the door open and the car still in drive against a snow bank. The Madison police responded. It appeared drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors.
On Feb. 1, a Madison College Public Safety officer responded to a medical emergency at the Downtown Campus. The City of Madison paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the individual to a medical facility for treatment. Public Safety officers and police found used needles and other drug paraphernalia in the restroom the subject was in.
On Feb. 2, a Madison College Public Safety officer discovered an unoccupied vehicle with what appeared to be an illegal substance in plain view. After the owner of vehicle arrived a Public Safety officer and a city police officer made contact with the owner. The owner was arrested and transported by the police.
Public Safety Update
As many of you may have noticed the north side exterior doors at the Truax Facility will remain locked. The safety of our campus community was a key concern given the increase in construction traffic on the service road for making this decision. The doors will remain secured until further notice.
