Madison College Public Safety Department responds to many calls for service. Accordingly, we would like to keep the college community informed. Here are some of the notable incidents this month.
On Feb. 7, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to an intoxicated individual attempting to gain access to secured areas at the Truax Campus. When contacted, the person lied about his identity and admitted to being under the influence of Heroin. City of Madison Police arrived on scene to assist and the subject was taken into custody.
On Feb 15, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to the Downtown Campus to a medical emergency involving a subject suffering from acute chest pains. Upon arrival, Public Safety Officers rendered aid until City of Madison paramedics arrived on scene. It was determined later that abuse of illegal controlled substances may have been a factor.
On Feb. 16, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to two male subjects who engaged in a physical altercation at the Truax Campus. Public Safety treated one subject was treated for minor injuries. Both subjects were charged with Disorderly Conduct and released from the scene by the Madison Police Department.
Public Safety Update
It has been brought to our attention that the limited-time parking area off of Anderson Street is possibly being misunderstood and thus misused, causing more citations being issued and in some case, vehicles being towed. That particular parking area will be strictly enforced and violators will be ticketed and towed.
