What’s happening?
Madison College Public Safety Department responds to many calls for service. Accordingly, we would like to keep the college community informed. Here are some of the notable incidents this month.
On March 20, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to a subject trapped in a Downtown elevator. Madison Fire Department was called to extricate the subject. No injuries were sustained and the subject was released successfully and safely.
On March 23, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to take a burglary report that occurred near the new Protective Services building. Investigation showed the fence around the construction area was broken into and property was removed. This case is still open.
On March 27, Madison College Public Safety Officers responded to the South Madison Campus to take a report of drugs on campus. Officers seized a dozen small packages of marijuana that were packaged in a manner in which it appeared it was to be distributed. Investigations are ongoing and this case is still open.
Public Safety update
Public Safety welcomes two new full time Officers to the Department. Officer Chelsey Straubhaar and Officer Nic Tatro, both Madison College graduates were recently promoted to full time employment with the department.
