Professional Development Workshop
The Executive Leadership Team will hold their Professional Development Workshop on Feb. 6 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in room C1435 at Truax. During the workshop, communication, motivation and achieving common goals with dignity and mutual respect will be stressed.
Jam the Gym
The annual WolfPack Jam the Gym will take place this Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Redsten Gymnasium. The day starts with men’s and women’s alumni games at 2 p.m. The women’s basketball game against Milwaukee Area Technical College will follow at 5 p.m. The men’s game tipoff is then slated for 7 p.m.
Visit with employers
Throughout February, students will have the chance to visit with employers.
On Feb. 10, the National Guard will have representatives in the Truax cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students will have the chance to chat with Anthony, Josh and Jason from the National Guard. On Feb. 11, students can meet managers from the local Tradehome 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Truax cafeteria. On Feb. 18, the U.S. Marine Corps will stop by the Truax cafeteria. SSGT. Graff and Captain Luebke from the Marine Corps will be on hand from 12-1 p.m.
Club officer roundtable discussion
There will be a roundtable discussion with club officers on Feb. 11 at the Downtown campus at noon in room D125 and Feb. 12 at Truax in room C1435 at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. Topics will include goals, vision and club issues. There will be a professional development exercise as well. Also, club officers will receive gifts as well.
Geology Club Valentine’s Day sale
The Geology Club will hold their Valentine’s Day sale in the cafeteria on Feb. 13 and 14. The sale will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. both days. For more information, email Tom at tpbarry@madisoncollege.edu.
Sledding and Skating at Elver Park
The Program and Activities Council will hold an event full of sledding, skating and fun at Elver Park on Feb. 16. From 1-3 p.m., people can take part in this free family event. To participate, register by sending an email to pac@madisoncollege.edu with your name, student ID number, phone number and skate sizes. The council will pick up skate rentals, with a limit of four rentals per family.
Elver Park is at 1250 McKenna Blvd. on the west side of Madison and is on the bus line. There are some sleds available, but people are encouraged to bring their own sleds if possible.
