Student proposes Fencing Club
Small Business Development student Gabe Millette-Bell is looking to start a fencing club at Madison College. One of the key components to starting a club is student interest and he is looking for some feedback. Those who would be interested in joining this club should contact him at [email protected].
Spoken Word Open Mic
Students are welcome to participate in a Spoken Word Open Mic from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Wolfpack Den on the Truax Campus March 27.
Affirmative Action Internships
The application process for paid summer internships through the State of Wisconsin (Divisions of Affirmative Action) is currently in progress. This includes the Summer Affirmative Action Internship Program (ASSIP), which provides work opportunities for racial and ethnic minorities, females and students with disabilities. ASSIP applicants must be full-time students enrolled at a college or university, or enrolled in a vocational or technical school program in the State of Wisconsin. Eligible applicants must have completed at least one year of a two-year or better technical college program.
The deadline to apply for these internships is April 15.
Impact Networking visits Truax
Representatives from Impact Networking will be in the Truax cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 31. Students are welcome to stop by their table to learn about career opportunities and discuss Impact.
Volunteer with the UW-Arboretum
The UW-Arboretum holds work parties on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Madison College students are welcome to attend as individuals or groups. All participants must wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants or they will not be allowed to participate in the work party.
Leadership in the Dark Workshop
“Leadership in the Dark: Developing Leadership Skills through Caving” is part of the Adventure Leadership Development Series sponsored by The Center for Student Life at Madison College. This is an event designed to explore leadership styles through the unique activity of caving.
This event takes place March 27 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Participants will meet on the Truax campus. Transportation to the caves, use of a head-lamp and dinner are provided.
