Public Safety Announcement Nov. 10th
November 10, 2015
Public Safety Officers respond to many calls for service and we communicate our activities to the college community. Here are some of the notable incidents from this past month.
On Oct. 28, Public Safety Officers identified suspects in a backpack and laptop thefts (two separate incidents). The suspects tried to sell back stolen books to the Madison College Bookstore. One of the suspects has a long history of theft. The case has been turned over to Madison Police Department for further investigation.
On Nov. 4, Public Safety Officers found a backpack left behind in the student parking lot. After a search for identification revealed the backpack contained small bags of prepackaged suspected marijuana, the owner of the backpack was arrested for bail jumping, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver. This person also had a pending felony charge for possession of cocaine.
On Nov. 4, Public Safety Officers responded to a staff member presenting with symptoms that were consistent with a heart attack. Officers rendered aid until Madison Paramedics arrived and transported the patient.
