Public Safety
November 13, 2019
Public Safety Officers respond to many calls for service and we communicate our activities to the college community.
Here are some notable incidents from the past two weeks.
On Oct. 24, Public Safety made contact with a known trespasser at the Goodman South Campus. The individual was escorted off campus without incident.
Also on Oct. 30, Public Safety responded to a medical call involving a student feeling unwell who ended up having a seizure. Officers assisted the student until she felt better and she was able to leave on her own.
On Nov. 2, Public Safety received a report of a gas leak at the Truax fire training grounds. Public Safety responded with the Maintenance department and assisted in getting the gas shut off. Madison Gas and Electric responded shortly after to fix the pipe.
With the recent cold weather, Public Safety would like to remind everyone to drive safely. On your way to school, follow these winter driving tips.
- Check your vehicle, make sure your lights, brakes and tires are in good condition and are working properly.
- Clean your windows before you leave.
- Plan your route and try to avoid roads that are frequently icy or congested with traffic.
- Stock your vehicle with a shovel, ice scraper, jumper cables and a flashlight.
