New workshop helps students grow as leaders
November 27, 2019
Work on YOU Wednesdays is a new series of monthly drop-in workshops for students to work on their leadership skills.
“Working on your leadership is really important to do when you’re in college, and easy and free to do when you’re in college. After you graduate it becomes much more expensive,” said Ellie Rome, the advisor for the National Society of Leadership & Success. Rome is organizing the workshops.
Rome also said taking advantage of opportunities to work on your leadership skills is beneficial in the long run and makes you more employable.
Past workshop topics included leadership styles and emotional intelligence. The next workshop will focus on conflict management.
Currently workshops take place at the Truax Campus, but next semester one of the workshops will be repeated at the Goodman South Campus.
The next Work on YOU Wednesday is on Dec. 4 from noon to 1 p.m. in room E30820.
