The Madison College District Board of Trustees announced last week that they are extending the time frame for their search for the next college president. The board said the decision reflects their commitment to conducting a thorough and robust search, ensuring they find the best candidate to lead Madison College.
As a result, President Jack Daniels will be postponing his June retirement, agreeing to extend his tenure with the college through Dec. 31, 2024. Last October, Daniels announced his intent to retire after a decade of serving as president.
The presidential search is a board-driven process, and the District Board of Trustees will communicate the timeline for the search in the coming weeks.
“Selecting the next president of Madison College is the most significant responsibility of the District Board, and we cannot compromise on process, timeline, or our ability to attract a highly qualified and talented pool of candidates,” said Madison College District Board Chair Donald D. Dantzler.
Recognizing the significance of identifying a leader, the board said they will seek candidates who champion Madison College’s mission and strengthen community and workforce partnerships with a continued focus on excellence.
They believe that Madison College plays an essential role throughout the region, so ensuring they have the best possible leadership at the helm is imperative.
