Public Safety Officers respond to many calls for service and we communicate our activities to the college community. Here are some of the more notable incidents from the past couple weeks.
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, a pipe burst in the interior of the Goodman South Campus. Public Safety assisted Maintenance staff in shutting the water off and monitoring the pipe until it could be repaired.
On Tuesday, Jan. 23, Public Safety took a report of an individual on campus that had been repeatedly harassing staff in multiple departments. The next day, the individual was located, warned for trespassing and harassment and escorted off campus. The individual was spotted again, at a later date, at the Goodman South Campus and was removed from campus.
On Feb. 1, Public Safety made contact with an individual at the Truax campus, soliciting students and staff for money. The individual was warned and escorted off campus.
Since the beginning of the semester, Public Safety has jump started 15 vehicles. A reminder to students that Officers are available 24/7 and this service is offered free of charge, as long as the requestor has photo identification and is the registered owner of the vehicle, or the son or daughter of the registered owner.
