The search for the next Madison College president remains on schedule to have the selected candidate assuming the role in early 2025.
Donald Dantzler, the Madison College Board of Trustees Chair, recently confirmed that “the Board intends to announce the next Madison College president before the Thanksgiving holiday,” and provided a timeline of the search process.
The search committee will continue to interview semi-finalists through mid-September, after which the committee will recommend three or four candidates to the District Board where they will undergo an in-depth series of interviews.
“Each finalist will participate in a robust series of interviews and forums, including visits to each Madison College campus and community events,” Danzler said.
Finalists will visit each of the Madison College campuses and participate in community events, some of which will be forums.
During the campus visits, the District Board will solicit input from employees and the community on the candidates, according to the presidential search page on the college’s website.
Danzler and Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, District Board Vice Chair, are leading the 16-member presidential search committee, which includes selected representatives from stakeholder groups including faculty, staff and community partners.
The District Board and committee are being assisted by Mississippi-based college executive search firm Gold Hill Associates. Gold Hill has helped more than 100 community colleges in searches for new presidents and executives.
Danzler said community members who have questions about the search should direct them to [email protected].
