With Dr. Jack Daniels retirement and Dr. Timothy Casper serving as interim president, Donald D. Dantzler, Jr., the Madison College Board of Trustees chair, recently shared an update on the presidential search process.
The search committee met on Feb. 6 to review applications received by Gold Hill, the college’s search firm. From that group, they selected semi-finalists to participate in an interview with the committee.
Those interviews began in mid-February and were expected to conclude by the end of the month.
After initial interviews, the committee will deliberate and develop its list of recommended finalists for the District Board.
The District Board will review those recommendations and announce finalists in early March.
Those finalists will be invited to Madison College to participate in candidate forums, including student and community events and visits to all Madison College campuses.
The forums are tentatively scheduled to take place the weeks of March 24 and 31. The District Board will share specific dates and times for these forums in early March.
Based on the results of those forums, the District Board intends to select the next Madison College President in mid-April.
Dantzler Jr. and the trustees strongly encourage students to actively engage in this process. He said that the student’s input throughout the candidate forums is vital to the Board’s consideration of each finalist.
If you have any questions or comments about the search, please email Donald D. Dantzler, Jr., at [email protected].
