Dear fellow students and community members, welcome back to school! We have much change before us at Madison College. However, one thing that doesn’t change is that new semester feel, whether it’s the nerves of the start of new classes or the excitement over meeting new people.
This year, however, has seen additional change for our College. We have a new President in Dr. Jack E. Daniels III, and new spaces to unveil in the Gateway, Health Services and throughout our Madison College District. We have changes downtown and West and South, as well, not to mention the Health Clinic and Fitness Center we voted for will be updated regularly as we near completion of this project for students. All of this means we will need to adapt, ever so slightly, and our lives on campus will be improved.
To help with this transition, your Student Senate has worked on several initiatives over this summer, including a plan to help reduce textbook cost long-term, publicizing some of the work done to make campus shuttles more efficient, and asking for more information from the college so we can better inform you when more change occurs.
Your Student Senate will be working hard to continue to represent the student body as best we can and to do so, we need your assistance! If you have ideas or feedback, please let us know at [email protected]. And, please consider running for senate. Just email us at that address and tell us you’re interested in running for Senate. We need your application by this Friday, Sept. 13!
Again, welcome back. Let’s make this a year to remember!
