The women’s basketball team continued to roll as they picked up a victory over the Stormers from Milwaukee Area Technical College. It was a balanced attack on both sides of the ball that led the Lady WolfPack to a decisive 84-31 win over their N4C conference rival. Madison would never trail throughout either half of play.
The game was mismatch from the get go. Madison College shot nearly 46 percent from the field and held the Stormers to under 16 percent. At the end of the first half, the WolfPack was up 41-17.
By the end of the game, the WolfPack outscored Milwaukee 27-0 on bench points. Although Milwaukee was able to connect three times from the free throw line, it was a far cry from the WolfPack’s 21 points from the line.
The mismatch did not stop on offense for the WolfPack. The WolfPack just pounded the defensive glass. On the Milwaukee side of the court, the Stormers picked up 16 rebounds only to be topped by a 33 defensive rebound display by the WolfPack.
If there was anything the Stormers had an upper hand on, it was from beyond the three-point line.
They were able to score 12 points from beyond the arch against the WolfPack’s nine.
The WolfPack had eight players score, five of whom scored in double figures. Kinsey Mace, WolfPack guard, led the scoring with 17 points. However, Hannah Schwartzer, post player for the WolfPack, had 14 points on top of 10-point outputs from guards Morgan Lass and Thresia Elskamp. Guard Calli Dahl threw up 11 as well.
The win on Feb. 4 gave Madison College a four game win streak. It gave the team their fourth against foes within the N4C. It was also their fifth win at home.
