If not for a loss to Harper College, the Madison College women’s volleyball team would be nearing a double-digit win streak.
The WolfPack dropped a 3-0 decision to Harper, Tuesday, Sept. 25, which snapped a streak of four wins. Though, they followed the loss with four consecutive wins, including two N4C victories.
The day following its loss to Harper, the WolfPack went to Fox Valley and earned a 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-9) win. Morgan Ellickson had 10 kills and three digs for Madison. Vanessa Clarson had 10 digs and Alexis Semrow had 12 assists and three digs.
For Madison coach Toby Parker, it was victory No. 199 with the WolfPack and a three-match homestand provided a chance to win No. 200, at home. Madison played its third match in four nights, Thursday, Sept. 28 and hosted College of DuPage.
Terissa Bierd had 13 kills, 11 digs and four aces to lead Madison in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-18) win, making Parker the first Madison College coach to reach 200 wins. Ellickson added 12 digs and Semrow had 18 assists.
Coaching wins No. 201 and 202 came in the next two games at home. The WolfPack beat Milwaukee, Tuesday, 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-18). Payton Klein had nine kills and three aces, while Bierd had seven aces. Alexis Semrow (15) and Melinda Statz (14) combined for 29 assists.
Another win over Fox Valley, came the following day, again in straight sets, 3-0 (25-11, 25-5, 25-20). Crawford had eight kills, Clarson had seven aces and Semrow had 12 assists. The win makes Madison 5-1 at home this season, 16-4 overall this season and ranked eighth in the NJCAA Division III rankings.
