Inaugural women’s soccer season underway

Clarion Staff Report

After four games, the Madison College women’s soccer team is still looking for the first win of its inaugural season. Still, there have been some bright spots.

The WolfPack earned a tie against South Suburban Community College on Sept. 7.

Elizabeth Conejo has provided some scoring punch with four goals, followed by Jamie Hess with two goals.

Madison College has kept every match close, losing by no more than three goals in any of its losses.

The most lopsided loss came in the team’s most recent game, a 3-0 loss to Rock Valley College on Sept. 10. Rock Valley held Madison College to just four shots – none of them on goal.

Madison College had more offensive success against South Suburban on Sept. 7, earning a 2-2 tie after taking an early 2-0 lead. Conejo led the way, scoring both goals.

Three players scored for the WolfPack in its 5-3 loss to Triton College on Sept. 3. Stina Seaberg, Jamie Hess and Conejo all scored in the match.

Madison College struck first and early in its season-opening match on Aug. 29. Conejo become the first WolfPack women’s soccer player to score a goal, finding the net just 25 seconds into the match.
