WolfPack men’s basketball ends 3-game slide

The Madison College men’s basketball team ended a three-game losing streak with a 77-70 victory over in-state rival Milwaukee Technical College on Feb. 14.
Jerrod Walton led the WolfPack with 22 points, while Brian Bearden scored 18 points and Kendale Nation added 13 points.
A strong performance defensively and from the free-throw line powered the victory.
Madison College forced 23 turnovers by Milwaukee and converted them into 28 points. The WolfPack also hit 20 of 26 free throws for the game, enabling them to hold off the Stormers late in the game.
With the win, Madison College improved to 17-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Madison College has two regular season games remaining. The team plays at Joliet Junior College on Feb. 18 and at Harper College on Feb. 21.
Triton College 67, Madison College 53
The top-ranked Triton College Trojans took over in the second half, outscoring Madison College by 10 points to post a 67-53 win on Feb. 11.
Madison College kept the game within 4 points in the first half, but Triton’s dominance inside was too much to overcome. Triton outscored the WolfPack 36 to 18 from inside the paint.
Walton led Madison College with 14 points and nine rebounds. Kris Sefrood added 11 points for the WolfPack.
Rock Valley College 94, Madison College 71
Even a hot-shooting half wasn’t enough for Madison College to overcome Rock Valley in a 94-71 loss on Feb. 7. The WolfPack shot 52 percent in the first half yet still trailed by nine points at the break.
Bearden scored 21 points to lead the WolfPack, while Walton added 12 points and nine rebounds.
College of DuPage 83, Madison College 78
Madison College’s five game winning streak ended in overtime against the College of DuPage, 83-78, on Feb. 4.
Despite trailing by 22 points at one time in the game, the WolfPack rallied back to force overtime. Unfortunately, DuPage outscored Madison College by 5 points in the extra period.
Walton led the WolfPack with 24 points and nine rebounds.
