Men’s basketball team loses 3-straight games

The Madison College mens’ basketball team now stands a 2-5 overall after dropping two games in the Carl Sandburg Classic and falling to Sauk Valley in double overtime.
The WolfPack’s next two chances to end its three-game losing streak will be on the road, at Rochester Community and Technical College on Nov. 24 and at Western Technical College on Dec. 2.
A stretch of five home games will follow, starting with a Dec. 5 game against Elgin Community College.
Carl Sandburg College 76, Madison College 69
Despite staying within striking range throughout the game, Madison College was unable to upend tournament host Carl Sandburg College, losing 76-69 on Nov. 21.
Markus Tobias led Madison College with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Cortez McCree added 13 points for the WolfPack.
Black Hawk College 74, Madison College 64
Madison College trailed 37-32 at halftime and saw Black Hawk College extend its lead in the second half in a 74-64 loss in the first game of the Carl Sandburg Classic, which was played in Galesburg, Ill., on Nov. 20.
Jake Andrews led Madison College with 16 points. McCree scored 14 points and Tyler Meier added 11 as three WolfPack players scored in double figures.
Sauk Valley College 90, Madison College 87, 2OT
Despite a great team effort, Madison College came up short in double overtime against NJCAA Division I Sauk Valley, 90-87, on Nov. 18.
Three WolfPack players scored 19 points each – Meier, McCree and Kristian Zimmerman. Malik Henderson added 11 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
Madison College 72, UW-Rock County 65
Three players scored in double figures as Madison College posted a 72-65 victory over UW-Rock County on parent’s night on Nov. 10.
McCree and Griffin Eckhart both scored 13 points, while Jake Andrews added 12 points.
