Women’s Soccer
Esther Noriega
A freshman on the Madison College women’s soccer team, Esther Noriega has started nine matches and played in all 11 this season. She is second on the team in goals with 11 and in assists with six. The midfielder has taken 44 shots this season.
A three-sport athlete at New Glarus High School, she helped lead the Sugar River soccer co-op (Belleville and New Glarus) to a WIAA Division 3 state runner-up finish in 2016. An all-conference selection her senior year, she scored 21 goals in high school and had 16 assists. The daughter of Dawn and Roy Noriega, she is a nursing major at Madison College.
Men’s Soccer
Oscar Perez
Oscar Perez, a freshman midfielder/forward on the Madison College men’s soccer team, has played in 13 matches and started five this season. He has scored four goals and had one assist, taking 10 shots on the season. His season highlight came on Sept. 24, when he scored three goals against Elgin Community College.
A striker for Madison West High School, Perez was named honorable mention all-conference (Big 8) as a senior after averaging a goal per game that year. An engineering major, he is the son of Nene Perez and Gabriela Alquicira.
