Women’s Basketball
Peyton Trapino
Peyton Trapino is in her second year with the Madison College women’s basketball team. A 5-foot, 5-inch guard, she is averaging more than 16 points and almost five rebounds a game. She is hitting 58 percent of her shots (69 of 118). Last year, she averaged 12.9 points a game and was second-team all-conference and all-region.
Trapino played midfielder for the WolfPack women’s soccer team this fall, posting 20 assists and 12 goals. She was second-team all-conference and second-team all-region. A graduate of DeForest High School, she is the daughter of Kristi and Mike Trapino.
Men’s Basketball
Deshawn Black
A sophomore on the Madison College men’s basketball team, Deshawn Black averages 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds a game. The 6-foot, 5-inch forward has started 17 games this season. He has a team-high 19 blocks and 27 assists and 13 steals.
Last season, Black played in 26 games, starting six, and averaged 6.6 points a game and had 22 blocks and 111 rebounds.
Black is a graduate of Sun Prairie High School, where he was named team MVP. A criminal justice major, he is the sone of LaShae McClain-Jallow, DeMonterryo Black and Shelby Longino.
