The Madison College women’s basketball team has won its last three games and has a 4-3 overall record after the first month of the season.
A pair of double-doubles from Dani Latz and Nariah Wilson led Madison College to its most recent victory, a 68-57 victory over NJCAA Division I Highland Community College on Nov 26.
Latz scored a career-high 20 points and added 14 rebounds for her fifth-straight double-double of the season. Wilson established career bests with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The win was a true team effort as all 10 WolfPack players scored during the game. Madison College’s bench outscored the Highland bench, 35-11.
Madison College is off until Dec. 7, when it hosts Prairie State College at noon.
Madison College 81, Kishwaukee College 44
Freshman Jaida Gaskins came off the bench to score a career-high 27 points and lead Madison College to an 81-44 victory over Kishwaukee College on Nov. 23. Gaskins also added seven rebounds, three steals and three assists.
The WolfPack outscored its opponent in every quarter, and held a 45-23 lead at halftime.
Latz added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Madison College, while Aubrey Maas scored 12 points. A’nise Keys recorded a career-best 11 rebounds.
Madison College 79, Edgewood College JV 48
A big second quarter powered Madison College’s 79-48 victory over the Edgewood College JV at home on Nov. 20. The WolfPack outscored the Crusaders, 28-9, in the second quarter to take a 44-21 halftime lead.
Camilla Hauser led Madison College with 20 points, while Maass added 16 and Wilson scored 14. Latz had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the WolfPack.
Carl Sandburg College 77, Madison College 61
Despite a career-best 17 points by freshman Camilla Hauser, Madison College fell to Carl Sandburg College, 77-61, on Nov. 16. Hauser hit 7 of 12 shots and sank two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Latz scored 12 points and posted a career high 16 rebounds for a double-double. Gaskins was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.
College of Lake County 70, Madison College 50
Madison College struggled to score early in the game, hitting just 2 of 19 shots, as College of Lake County built a big early lead on its way to a 70-50 victory on Nov. 13. The WolfPack trailed, 21-4, after the first quarter, but played even with Lake County the rest of the way.
Latz led the way for Madison College with 15 points, while Nariah Wilson added 12 points. Latz also had 11 rebounds to post the first double-double of her career.
